How it works

No accounts. No server. No catch.

This site has no player database, because it does not need one. Everything that makes a game a game happens in your browser, and everything you earn stays there with it.

  1. 01

The page is the whole download

Each trail ships one small JavaScript module. There is no engine bundle to wait on, no asset pack, and not a single byte of audio — every sound is synthesised live by the Web Audio API.

  2. 02

Your run is simulated at a fixed timestep

Physics advances in exact sixtieths of a second regardless of your refresh rate, so a 240 Hz monitor plays the same game a 60 Hz one does. Randomness is seeded, so scenery is identical run to run.

  3. 03

    Scores are banked locally

Personal bests, Forest EXP, your rank and every Antler Badge are written to your browser's own storage the moment a run ends. No request goes out.

  4. 04

Clearing site data is the delete button

There is no account to close and no export to request, because there is nothing held anywhere else. That is the whole privacy policy, and the long version just says it more slowly.

Dusk settling through the pines.

The trail conditions shift with the clock. Nothing about them is fetched — the phase is derived from the current hour, which is the only honest way to render something that was never really state.
